This spring sees the arrival of two innovative products combining key dairy hygiene components.
Intensive research and development by FIL has meant the company has been able to combine Impact Red’s detergent and sanitising components into one sachet, making its use a simpler, one step solution.
With its pre-portioned sachet design Impact Red has eliminated measuring and simply involves ripping the top off a sachet and dropping into the wash water. It complements FIL’s alkaline based sachet product, Impact Blue in the farm dairy hygiene programme.
Available in 112.5g sachets to treat 150 litres of plant wash water and the 150g sachet for treating 200 litres, Impact Red leaves only a small empty wrapper to discard when empty.
Farmers will welcome the fact Impact Red does not require an Approved Handler certificate for its use, nor a Dangerous Goods certificate for transportation.
Impact Red’s launch comes alongside the release of an integrated liquid chlorinated alkaline detergent, Quantum Xtreme.
In a liquid form Quantum Xtreme also puts two hygiene tasks into one, by combining a high grade alkali with a chlorinated sanitising compound.
Quantum Xtreme has two potentially caustic products combined, eliminating the need to carry separate alkaline-chlorine products on farm.
The increasing number of farmers using detergent pumps to administer detergent doses can now use one combined chlorinated alkaline product for their twice weekly alkaline washes.
Quantum Xtreme is available in a 20L, and the 100L container can be collected for re-use or re-cycling through the Plasback initiative FIL is part of.
The combination technology behind Quantum Xtreme and Impact Red delivers greater simplicity to dairy farm hygiene programmes, something becoming more critical than ever before, says Trevor Gulliver.
“More than ever labour is responsible for the day to day tasks of milking and dairy shed hygiene. Both products have simplified a job requiring attention to quantities, product type and safety.”
Both products are now available at local rural retail stores.
