Kirstin Manson is a familiar face in the North Otago farming community, where she lives locally with her family and brings a lifetime of hands-on experience to her role as FIL Area Manager.
She started her career as a Veterinary Nurse before spending time milking cows, then headed overseas for a while. In the UK, she worked on a 40,000-acre sheep and beef estate before taking on something completely different - running a Highland Pony stud and trekking centre in North Yorkshire with 80 ponies.
After returning home to New Zealand, Kirstin spent over 13 years with Farm Source in Oamaru, working her way up to Assistant Manager and building strong relationships with local farmers.
She enjoys getting stuck in, helping farmers solve problems on-farm and finding the right solutions to suit each situation — no two farms are the same, and that’s what keeps it interesting for Kirstin.
Outside of work, she loves spending time with family and friends and making the most of summer with camping trips whenever she can.
