Michael Burgess

Michael is the Quality Assurance Officer at FIL. His role revolves around the testing of raw materials and finished products for FIL detergents and animal health products so farmer get an excellent quality product every time. He specialises in problem solving of quality issues to do with batch production.

Michael has been with FIL for 23 years (making him one of our longest-standing employees). Michael holds a Certificate in Science and prior to working at FIL worked at Anchor (now Fonterra) from 1990-1995 and at Livestock Improvement Hamilton Laboratory from 1996 to 2000.

When asked what excites him most about working at FIL, Michael says “every day is different, and I love working with all the wonderful people at FIL.”

Outside of work, Michael enjoys growing Fijian Frangipani flowers and driving his Classic 49-year-old 1973 Galant GTO Coupe.
